Welcome to MetallicaWiki, a wiki site dedicated to Metallica.

Although Metallica's "fight for world domination" (citing the Ride The Lightning booklet) has been going on with much success for 28 years, the MetallicaWiki site has started only last November.

Just like with Wikipedia, anyone can contribute and share their Metallica knowledge to make MetallicaWiki the most comprehensive encyclopedia on Metallica.

Everyone who is registered and logged in will be able to add and edit articles.

Metallica Status (updated January 23, 2010)

Metallica is touring South America in January 2010, performing 8 shows in Peru, Argentina, Chile and Brazil. The next are Central America in March and Europe from April to June 2010.

On September 12, 2008, Metallica released the ninth studio album Death Magnetic, produced by Rick Rubin. The band toured in North America twice and in Europe once since then, with many shows planned for 2010 for the current World Magnetic Tour.

The official website premiered the "All Nightmare Long" video on December 7, 2008.

On February 8, "My Apocalypse", the closing track of Death Magnetic, won a Grammy Award for the Best Metal Performance.

On March 8, Metallica cancelled the second show in Stockholm, Sweden, due to James' stomach problems. The show was later rescheduled to May 4, 2009.

On March 26, the video of another single off Death Magnetic, "Broken, Beat & Scarred", was premiered on the official website.

On April 4, Metallica was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Former long-time bass player Jason Newsted performed "Master Of Puppets" and "Enter Sandman" on stage with all four Metallica members during the ceremony.

On April 29, Metallica was featured in an episode of Discovery Channel's series "Time Warp".

Three shows in Mexico City (June 4, 6 and 7) were filmed by Wayne Isham and his crew. They were released on DVD and Blu-ray as Orgullo, Pasión Y Gloria - Tres Noches En La Ciudad De México on November 30, 2009.

The show in Nimes, France (July 7) was also filmed, this time by a French filming crew. DVD and Blu-ray from that show, titled Francais Pour Une Nuit (French For One Night), was released on November 23.

On the second night in Madrid, James accidentally started playing "Fade To Black" after the intro tape for "One".

Metallica played five nights in Copenhagen, all of which were shot by several members of MetClub for the next Fan Can. There were two live premieres in Copenhagen - "Suicide & Redemption" on the night four, and "The Ecstasy Of Gold" on the last night.

The band participated in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary Concerts in New York City's Madison Square Garden alongside U2, Eric Clapton and Aretha Franklin on October 30, 2009 (see the official announcement).

Wayne Isham was once again called for filming two shows in Quebec City on October 31st and November 1st. According to MetOnTour.com, he was also filming "some pick-up shots" in Ottawa on November 3rd. Another live DVD release is thus expected to be announced soon.

In 2010, Metallica will play shows with Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax and other guests as part of the traveling Sonisphere Festival in Warsaw, Zürich, and Prague.
