For Whom The Bell Tolls
From MetallicaWiki
"For Whom The Bell Tolls" is the third track on Metallica's 1984 album Ride The Lightning.
The song begins with two bell strokes, followed by a famous distorted bass guitar riff, composed by Cliff Burton before joining Metallica.
"For Whom The Bell Tolls" is one of the first slower songs by Metallica, containing "catchy" vocal melodies and guitar harmonies in the middle, and generally simpler guitar riffs and drums than other early compositions.
Although it is not a part of every setlist, the track is still performed live quite often at Metallica shows.
